The Time

So this might seem trivial or irrelevant or simply inane to you. But think about it. I know there is a condition (because it happens to me when life gets just too damn much) it is a malady, a condition which I call tired eyes and tired mind. The flow on from this kind of fatigue means that when I hit the pillow at night instead of reading twenty pages I fall asleep after half a page with the book open on my chest and my glasses still on. If I manage more than a page I cannot remember what I read and I have to read it again.

There is a solution and that solution was created by my mother. Some people probably stumbled on it before this. Some people may already practice this. This practice is called the lunch time read.

We as people in this current time should take one hour for lunch. It is good for our well being and it makes the afternoon so much better. Thus then 40 minutes is dedicated to reading and 20 minutes to eating and digestion.

You may find a nice spot at your place of work or if you work from home you will have your place.

If you do not have the luxury of a lunch hour or you feel in your gut some resistance to this time slot then take the time to say when? When will be my reading time? Will it be?

Early morning?

As soon as you return from work?

After dinner?

Making time each day is a necessity for reading to become a fixed habit. And believe me this is a habit that will serve you all your life.
