Favourite Poems

I have included in the hardback edition of “Cocktails and Peacock Feathers” two pages dedicated to my favourite all time poems. It is a list of the titles and poet’s names. It is fun to speak these out loud and try to learn them by heart …(very much a work in progress). There is something theatrical in reciting poetry; a kind of forging of something warm and curious with your soul and it is a little bit of a remedy. For insomnia for instance, for the low days, for children who visit. Place a small vault of your favs in your head and watch as sleep comes calling, the light slowly filters in and little children laugh.

I have loved watching and listening to Helena Bonham Carter on the socials as she reads poetry to us. It, she, is enchanting.

I leave you with this quote……….

“Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words..” (Robert Frost)
