Turn Towards Reading, Writing and Books

The great words of the poet Rainer Maria Rilke are such: turn towards rather than away…and if life seems to lack material, do not blame it; blame yourself.

The tired mind might whisper to you that it is all too hard. That your desire to read will require too much energy of you. Ignore this and take up a page and with a light heart begin to read or to write. Or indeed to order your books and do some dipping into the pages; taking little sips of what appears before you.

It is a way of life, this kind of doing; this kind of application of mind and brain. And thus in a few days time feel the effects of being so excited to return to your reading, to return to your writing. Always looking towards this art form and not away.
